The course structure
The course runs over approximately 5 months from first workshop to assessment, combining around 200 hours of structured online learning with in-person practical training at The Pilates Corner, Baldock SG7 6NG.
You get immediate access to a structured learning portal covering Pilates principles and history, functional anatomy, posture and movement analysis, exercise programming, and teaching cues. Expect around 200 hours of online and written study across the full qualification.
Your first in-person weekend at The Pilates Corner. Hands-on learning covering the fundamentals of teaching: cues, class structure, exercise programming, regressions, progressions, and client safety. After this weekend, you are encouraged to start teaching friends and family to build confidence.
The second in-person session, building on what you have learned. Focus shifts to mixed-ability programming, client scenarios, and developing your teaching identity. More online learning runs alongside this stage.
You complete your portfolio and remaining online modules at your own pace, with full access to learning resources throughout. There is no minimum number of practical hours required - you are trusted to prepare at the level you feel confident.
Your final in-person session at The Pilates Corner. A practical assessment alongside your completed portfolio. Pass this and you are a qualified Level 3 Mat Pilates Instructor.
Fully accredited by Active IQ, an Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation. Nationally recognised and meets the standard required for professional insurance.
All in-person sessions held at The Pilates Corner, Baldock SG7 6NG. Direct trains from London King's Cross.
Maximum 6-8 students per cohort. Genuinely personalised support and feedback throughout.
Around 200 hours of online study plus 3 workshop days and a half-day assessment. Designed to fit around existing jobs and commitments.
No minimum teaching hours. Unlike most Level 3 Pilates courses, there is no requirement to log a minimum number of practice teaching hours. You are trusted to prepare at the level that is right for you.
Hands-on teaching experience
One of the things that sets HSP apart from every other Level 3 Mat Pilates instructor training programme in Hertfordshire is the opportunity to gain real-world Pilates experience by teaching genuine clients before you qualify.
Just like a trainee hairdresser works with real clients in a salon, HSP students have the option to lead live student Pilates classes at The Pilates Corner - with real studio members, in a real working studio environment. Entirely optional, at no extra cost.
Most Level 3 Pilates courses require students to log 90+ hours of practice teaching independently. HSP has no such requirement - no hour-logging, no scrambling to find participants.
For trainee Pilates instructors who want hands-on teaching experience, The Pilates Corner offers the chance to teach a live group class to genuine studio members in a real studio environment.
Teaching a mixed ability group class - reading the room, adapting cues in the moment - builds class management skills that no practice run can replicate.
Practice teaching with real clients is available at no additional charge. Subject to availability and not guaranteed as part of the course.
No other Pilates instructor training provider in Hertfordshire offers this opportunity as part of the course.
